Their little company has grown from one grass shack in Waikiki to a diverse group of 41 unique shops that span the globe. You can find their original T-shirts in your favorite vacation getaways from Hawaii to Florida, in their catalog store and on the World Wide Web.
What a crazy journey it has been! Back in 1964, teenagers were a powerful force as baby boomers moved into their college years.
"Bikini Beach Party" starring Annette Funicello played in movie theaters. Waikiki Beach Boys taught surfing to tourists who were staying in the newly opened Outrigger Island and the famous Ilikai hotels. The Waikiki Shell hosted another "Surf Battle" concert with 10,000 screaming teens and an impressive list of bands. And surfing was riding a wave of popularity.
