They were established in 1966 to serve the needs of General Electric employees and have since expanded there offerings to the general public.
Given there roots, it’s not surprising that they look at the insurance business a little bit differently. GE employees quickly spread word about them to family and friends and today, more than half there policyholders have no formal ties to GE.
